    Passat V6 4 Motion Engine/Transmission???

This may be a silly question but does anyone know if they make a 2000 passat V6 4Motion in a standard?

I've got a B5 2000 V6 4MNT with auto/tip. Replacing the Cats. have a line of cost effective replacements but they list them a AHA direct fit replacement. Indy said there is a differnce between standard and auto versions? Anyone know about this before I order/ship them.

    Cheers, K

I've got a V6 with a standard transmission but its not a 4-Motion. I've never seen or heard of a V6 4-Motion with a standard transmission in the U.S. If they were offered at all, they were very limited.

Sadly, I've got no info for CAN back to 2000, but in the US I show zero (0) cars that match the description you've given (V6, 4MO, 5MT, MY00).

In fact, I show no Passats available in the US or CAN that were V6, 4MO and 5MT between 1998 and 2005.

maybe these parts are similar to what audi used on the 2000 a4, v6 5spd quattro...from what i know, that is as close as you would get.

don't know if there is a difference between auto and manual (or fwd and 4mo) for cats. they may may be the same but try to get a part number to be sure.

i've learned that having a 4mo means that you have to be carefull what you buy aftermarket. a lot of suppliers dont list parts specific to 4mo cars and don't even know that 4mo cars exist.

you probably could take the v6 manual tranny off a B5 Audi A4 and have it work. (audis have 'quattro' which is the same as '4mo')

though there is one major caution, the output shaft on an engine with a manual tranny is different than one for an automatic. I know this is true for 1.8ts, not sure for v6s.
