Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (Kosmas)

I noticed you over on VWvortex. I think you'll like the people over here better!

The colour of your car looks very similar to the Indigo Blue on my car.

Nice to see that someone else still has the 15" Adelaide wheels.

Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (TUR-80)

Thanks CJ, Zender spoiler is a nice suttle touch that gives the back end a bit more character.
TUR-80 - I like ALL people
but yes ClubB5 leaves it for dead.
The Windsor blue's a funny blue - in the photo above its a darkish blue as is was an overcast day. If there is sunshine it turns a purpley blue - not sure if Indigo does that?
The Adelaides are seeing me thru until I can get my hands on 17x8 OZRacing SuperLeggera's. OZWheels in Melbourne are the Australian distributor but they cant get any until OZRacing have enough orders (around 250) to do another run.
Then there's the Eibach Pro Kit that I also want to install but once again no stock until who knows when.
Oh well the virtues of trying to do mods to a European car in the land of Oz

Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (Kosmas)

Just wondering..

quote:
Yep that's the Euroswitch (good pickup!) and yes I just got my Vestatec fog lights installed last week and they work great off the switch.

This is from the other thread that I posted a while ago, I'm interested in this mod also (The fog and switch). Would you mind passing me some details please?
Where did you get them? how much, and may be a contact ?

Thanks!

Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (C.J)

The Euroswitch I picked up from www.parts4vws.com although I probably di it in haste.
I'd recommend you give your local dealer's spare parts a call and see if they can source the part for you (part no. 1C0941531A01C). It should be heaps cheaper although it may take some time to get in.

The fog lights I got direct from Vestatec in Germany - one of those "I'll never do that again" experience. The fog lights were priced reasonably enough at $160,34 Euro ... but then there was $50 shipping, $33,65 VAT (which I can claim back if I only knew how!) coming to $243,99 euro. The funds had to be wired to Vestatec's bank account - no visa over the phone or online.
Then once they arrived (thanks to Sept 11) I had to personally go and get them thru customs ... fill out the forms pay some more tax/gst register as an importer fill out some more forms ... and finally I had my foglights!
It was to say the least a major PITA ... but I now have a better appreciation of how to import items

This is the link to the vestatec website and the vestatec foglights
THe best way to save yourself hassles is to find someone that brings them in locally(which I couldnt find) because they'll have cheaper shipping costs which is the killer since Sept 11.

Hope this helps!

Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (Kosmas)

Wow, thanks for another great answer!
Does sound like a lot of hassle, I was thinking of getting Hella Micro Driving lights (not xenon) and install them behind the stock slats, as I don't want to destroy the stock look and still add a bit more lighting when condition requires.. I'll see what happens..

Thanks again for the info!

Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (C.J)

Mike,

If you are interested in the Vestatec Vmaxx fogs they are available from Car Shine located in Melbourne. A couple of months ago I was quoted $595. The kit comes with the wiring looms, leads and a non factory switch. They are in the process of getting the factory switches.

Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (BRU20VT)

Hey good one Dom.
I got my Zender from there and I'm sure I asked them if they had fogs but I dont recall them saying they had the Vestatecs!
Shows how much we get screwed out here - $160 odd Euro becomes $600 AUD
the maths just doesnt add up!

Craig Atkins or Michael Hanrahan should be able to help at Carshine - 03 9328 8866.

Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (Kosmas)

Ummm, Dude, your steering wheel is on the wrong side. I think that might be a defect or something, I think... That should be covered under warrenty and such.

Sweet looking ride man! That Zendar wing is still the best option out there for a rear spoiler.

But really, you Aussies need to let that colonial English shit go. We did!
Limies drive on the right side. Former colonies don't!

Take it easy!

Did I say nice looking car?

Re: KosB5 - Melbourne Australia (Chas)

Chas,
Its not so much that our steering wheels are on the wrong side its just that here in the land of Oz the passengers drive

The Zender rear spoiler just says
to me, soon I'll be putting on my Projektzwo front spoiler and Oettinger rear skirt and I'll be happy. Man, you've done some serious performance mods to your B5 - I've only chipped it and focussed on looks (I know, I know - its GO before show
) Take it easy? - There's no time for that - got some Mod'n to be done! Thanks, Man
