Default Cars Possessed

Alright so today i put my car into park and the rpms start going crazy. The engine doesnt want to idle in either park or neutral but the weird part is when i put it into drive or reverse mode it stops. Then i put it back into park and the rpms rise and keep going up and down its really weird. I have no idea what this can be. I will attach a video to show you what its like. Any ideas??

lol yeah idk what to think anymore. i forgot to mention that this gets a lot worse when i am standing on a hill, even when i was standing on a level surface the engine did this but not as badly. another thing is that even when its in drive it has a very rough idle. the whole car basically shakes.

did you had it done at the dealer?

don't forget to put the car on a flat surface so you can get the exact level

I think you should take it back so they can check the car for you. Because driving the car like that I don't think is a good idea now that you just got the CEL.

In the future, unless you are still under warranty, take your Passat tot any of the trusted independent mechanics listed in the Service section, the dealer is just going to way overcharge you for EVERYTHING, and I do mean everything.

yeah im probably not gonna keep this car after the lease anyway it has to many little bugs that haven't been resolved. i just talked to the dealer on the phone and they said it might be the valve. ill see whats wrong when i bring the car in.

alright so i went to the dealer and they fixed my problem. the problem was the valves. One of the valves was faulty causing the mixture of gas and oxygen to be lean causing misfires in my car. now its back to normal
