Default B5.5 1.8T 4MO - Boost Surge

So I own a 1.8T 4MO 5SP, 85K on the clock running APR 93 OCT, 2.5 downpipe, 3" back with dual Magnaflows, only other engine mod is the Hyperboost DV & ITG drop in.

2 nights ago I went to start up the car when I was leaving work, when I started it, it had a ruff idle, shook then the CEL flashed, but didn't stay on. This has happened before (and I plan to VAG it tonight to see if their are any codes), gut tells me it will be an o2 or a misfire. I proceeded to let it kick-down until smooth idle, then headed out. I was merging onto the turnpike and had to romp it a bit to merge when the acceleration increased more faster than normal. Boosting was fine spiked at 17 held at 15. This time the traction control light came on then went off. (Don't get me wrong faster is nice, but think something may be wrong)

Continuing home I got on it a few times to see if it would boost faster again. It did & after a few times the TC stuck on till I got home.

Few things I was thinking it could be:
1. Change in weather - it has been warm in PA
2. I fill-up with WAWA gas b/c it is close to home, their gas now has 10% ethanol
3. Software problem

So yesterday and today it drive fine, no CEL but if I jump on it it will surge a bit when boosting and traction light will come on until I settle down. I may pull the DV and clean it too when I do the vag-scan.

Any other thoughts?

like I have been taught by other PW members, no sense in asking the question until you pull the codes with VAG. There will be codes guaranteed. DV, N249 puck, N75, vacuum hoses, etc. I strongly doubt it is a software issue.

ps. my guess is vacuum hose or N75 valve

I'd guess coilpack. Vag-com should help identify which cylinder.

There was a misfire on 3, then random but with the other codes I'm not 100% convinced it's the packs, since there was a MAF & o2.

lucas13dourado - flash the second week I owned it, so 3 years ago

If it is the coil-pack I guess it is recommended to change them all? I may let it go this week to see if it happens again. Any other thoughts welcome.
