Default Vacuum hose change help?????

I need to change a vacuum hose on my car because it is torn and I believe that is why my check engine light is on. I do not have the repair manual yet, so can someone tell me where all 4? of them are? Any tips?

I don't know what year your B5 is. But for my 99 B5 1.8T, here is the diagram:

Replace them with silicone hoses. Wirecutter works wonders on those POS crimp clamps.

Default 2002 1.8t

I was told that there were only 4 major vacuum hoses to change? What would someone have meant by that? 1.8t. 02

Do any of you guys have pictures or diagrams to were these hoses are located the four main ones. 1.8t. 2002. If my check engine light came on due to that will it turn off after I replace them if that was the problem?

Yep - there is a nice diagram there. I just used plain old vacuum hose. I think the total job was about 30 minutes. Just remember to take the end of the old & new hoses together so you can thread it around the manifold, etc.

Quick question regarding swapping out vac hoses.... I have only replaced one of my vac hoses (did the boost gauge install). The other vac hoses look tricky to access. What's the best way to get the ones under the manifold? If I jack up the car and go from underneath, will it be much easier? Or do I need to take the manifold off

I have a 2002 1.8T.

Thanks,

Eric

i just did it by removing the 3 screws and sensor connector on the coolant tank. this allowed you to flip it over.
