The funny thing is once you have done it, it's very easy.

I seem to remember pushing down instead of up. However it's been 5 years since I tried.

I've heard many people say the same thing. I just can't figure out how it's ever going to come off.

YOu need to pry down, once you have done it, its really simple. You are trying to move the part that say number 10 to release the nub on number 3. Make sense.

Try ditching the flat head for a small phillips worked for me

Sonnybk, any luck with the airbag removal? I am going to have to do the same thing this coming weekend to replace the turn signal stalk and wanted to know if you learned any tricks?

Finally figured it out. Took 5 minutes to remove with a stubby flat-head. Didn't realize I needed to be so low for the starting position. My normal sized drivers were too long to get good maneuverability.

All is done... I live and I learn... Although I wasted too much time on such an easy job.
