HelP! A couple of minutes into my commute today, I started getting an incredibly loud metalic squeal from the front of the car. I thought, at first it was the power steering, but it's not emminating from the engine bay, and doesn't do it while stopped. My front brakes are more than half there, so I was thinking it is a rock caught between the sheild and the back of the rotor? They just paved my street yesterday, so maybe one of the tarred rocks popped up there?
It's embarassing...it's so loud!
Michael
Good news for me! I was right. It was a rock between the dust shield and the rotor. No noticeable damage. I took the wheel off in the parking lot and pulled out a pea sized rock. Something so little could make sooooo much noise! Anyway, whew! Nothing expensive to fix.

Michael
Good deal, not expensive is good  . It happened to me before on a different car, same thing, just that it never went away :nervous: , it kept squealing like crazy . I had to pull in a parking lot, jack my car up, take the wheel off, and found that rock just logged in there, anyways, time consuming but a free fix
