Just to follow up, a few pics to get started (something happened to my FTP so only these made it.) Enjoy; more to come tonight.

The difference between OEM and Samco intake hoses:

The added length is for more possible flex. Remember, VW built in a certain amount of insurance into that hose. It's really a very crappy hose. I've had mine out once and had a real close look at it. Bad hose, bad hose. Mine used to start slipping off the cross-over pipe all the time. It doesn't do that anymore since I installed my FMIC and am now using 2 clamps on the end of this hose to secure it in place.

But over all the hose is fine for stock applications, but who wants to leave this engine stock??? :p

Chas, I'll have to go back in again because the Forge DV was a bitt too large. But someone had a suggestion to 'shave' the inside pieces enough for the Forge to at least get started. I didn't think of it at the time so hopefully, it might work, But again, for my FMIC, there's not enough matierial to completely get a hose clamp in w/o stretching the hose. Given that the engine will rock a bit, I'm afraid it'll just rip out some day.

But Plan B is already brewing for you see, I have a 90 deg. elbow that wasn't needed for my FMIC setup, but CAN be used to give me just the right amount of "give" I need. So stay tuned; not all is lost. For now, OEM hoses below must stay on.

Damn Herman, that sucks. So you are going to add a bit the length of the metal piping basicaly?

I built all of the piping for my FMIC and custom cut eachone to fit with just a bit of give just because of issues like this one. So if I got those hoses, I may not have to mess with it too much.

I'm going to be taking off my front bumper here real soon to do a little work on a few things under there and some inspections work too. I have one little leak in the "Y" pipe of my H2O mister system than needs a look at and then I was wanting to go over the all the piping and just check for any possible leaks.

I'm also going to paint the pipes black to try and hide the FMIC a bit more. Too much silvery stuff behind that lower grille for my tastes anymore.

I hear ya. I'd hate to waste this; I mean $177 for just the TB hose???? :( I'll just get a 4" section of tubing and begin working on it. It'll work.

heh, I hear you on the FMIC. I too said the same thing but got real lazy about it prior to the install. I still have the can of paint sitting on the shelf!
