I've been waiting for something like this since I missed last year Christmas promo. This time around Revo is offering $100 Off on new software - Needless to say I couldnt miss this!

Anyway I havent been able to start anything since the arrival of my new baby boy:thumbup:

Parts from the last blog that were scrap are indeed scrapped - no need for bigger turbo if the K03s is in good working order. ECS light pullies - wish I would've had 'em during the T-belt change, to lazy to do it again (for sure on the next T-belt change!)

The sweetness - After conversating with my local revo dealer - I have set a tentative appointment for tomorrow (3/31).

Not sure because I promised my buddy (Joe), to go let off a few rounds at the range! Plus ammo is expensive & wasteful even though I enjoy every moment. Although I think the software is calling my name.

I'll update on Thursday if I install Revo2:D

Pics coming soon :salute:

-ECS stuby antenna -Purchased
-ECS green temp sensor -Purchased
-ECS T-belt/water pump kit -Purchased
-race downpipe - waiting to purchase
-Revo -waiting for rest of stg 2 stuff
-SPS 3 waiting to snag from guy on vortex
-K04-15 -waiting to purchase/possible scrap
-Pullies -scrapped

Anyway the issue(s) from last blog have been addressed i.e. emissions - not including one new thing popping up i.e. some idiot was so kind to leave a small dent on rear passenger side fender

Okay I spoke with a couple buddies that drive 5/6 speed GTI's that are chip'd. They say the tip tranny will not be able to handle stg2 w/out some sort of tip software - Are there opinions true? & if they're true - can I mix software programs?

Next post I will put some pics up of ride & goodies - Just have not had the time.:salute:

Worked out a lot, but ate a lot, too. Still eating relatively well and my overall health is good. I really don't do much in the way of overprocessed junk food. Maybe eat out one or two meals a week (out of 21 - 28).

Workouts are always in the evening and I hate that. However, I'm already out of bed by 5:30 and it's just flat out difficult to get up significantly earlier to try and get in a 30-min workout without waking everyone in the house. So, I workout after my son goes to bed and while my daughter watches (usually) a Disney movie. Jeez, I hate Cinderella. I channel that passion into the workout. ;)

Okay, next weigh-in is 3/1/10.

Hey all,
I was able to pick-up a few parts, install a couple and am currently waiting for more parts.

Installed so far..

South Performance boost guage/steering pod w/no buzz T fitting. (Not sure why they say "No buzz" cause it buzz's everytime I get on it. Oh well - it was annoying the first day now I can't even notice!) Please make sure when you do attempt to install a guage disconnect battery & use in-line fuse.

Things that Need to be address..

(Thanks to my now sold "325whp deathbird" 96 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD  - I fab up a boost leak tester with PCV,hose coupler/clamp, & nozzle from air compressor - Home depot. Anyway I did a test on the beotch and sure enough there is a fat leak - notorious "F" hose!

Timing Belt needs to be replaced - while I'm in might as well tackle waterpump!

TIP seems to be alright but will be scrapped anyway 710 valve will be replace as well.

Aside from all the under hood problems. I'm happy to report the exterior/interior are in great shape. Lately my wife has been commuting with the beotch & has requested to install brighter headlights. Perfect just keep giving me excuses to by more s#!t for the beotch! HID's here we come!

Left overs!...

Sadly we're due for new sticker plates and E-test. So before all modding brakes loose - that will be first on the list.

Thank u's to the peeps for taking a peep at my madness. stay tuned posting pics of install, parts etc...

Happy Boosting!:D

This photo really stands out. toastermcfunk choosed to get a little more experimental with this one - and that's rare. Most people don't even think about tilting the camera but as you can see, it can give your photo some interesting touch.

What I like about this one, is that the photo is neither showing a detail nor the whole car. It was a good decision to cut off a part of the car - but I would have tried to show the whole tires (i.e. letting the car sit on the bottom of the photo).

The clean car and the nice light reflecting in the paint do the rest to build an exceptional photo. In addition the photo is divided in two parts: 2/3 on the left (car) and 1/3 on the right (background) - which is the perfect ratio. ;)

I'm happy that bigray got rid of his gully-cover-rims. These just look so much better on his Passat. And since he has such an exceptional good looking Passat it's just appropriate to take some really good photos of it - and he does:

These are just amazingly scenic. bigray shows us that you can use a nice landscape and light-situation (and maybe some editing in the clouds?!) to create a really dramatic look.

I love these two and couldn't pic a favourite. But I have to say that these settings wouldn't work with a black Passat. At least not as good as it does here. The Passat just pops out in a really nice shade of blue-ish silver as a contrast to the dark landscape.

Another thing I like is the fact that the car is not centered. In the first photo, the sun makes a nice center.

Great photos.

It's been a while since I posted the last "EPP". Not because there weren't any worthy photos posted on the thread but I stayed out of the thread a while, because there were so many unworthy pictures among all the posts. And since some people said "exceptional" could even mean "exceptional in their eyes" or that this should also apply to "standard pics of exceptional good looking Passats", I kept my mouth shut.

Luckily, the quality went up again. So now I have 21 Exceptional Passat Photos that I saw on the thread and I'd like to tell you, why I think these are exceptional, just like I did before. Perhaps I will more often go into detail or post some tips.

My selection will not always reproduce the order in which the Photos were originally posted. Some people will be mentioned two or three times, each time with a different photo, but I try to mix this a bit to get some variety.

I should also mention that I'm planning to resize the photos to a width of 800 pixel to keep a uniform look to the Blog. I try to give you the links to the original posts / photos. (Maybe I'll edit some of the older blog entries.)

Let me know about your thoughts, feel free to comment the blog entries.
The power window on the drivers side front wont go down. The motor seems to work fine, and the window seems to look fine. I think its a cable inside that might have snapped. Does anybody know how much this part costs?

Thanks.

Dave

Waiting on test results from a few things.
Doctor: I was asked to monitor my blood pressure over the next 30 days and follow up with him on April 9th at 2pm. This is due to my blood pressure taken at his office being 146/84.
And my weight was 198lbs, fully clothed. At the gym in a towel I'm about 193lbs. Being 5'9", I'm considered a little overweight and I plan to drop to about 175. My last three days worth of entries since I'm just starting this today.
This is sitting at rest for an hour with no food/drink/cigs.
March 12 - 130/86, pulse 80
March 13 - 140/90, pulse 62
March 14 - 134/87, pulse 73
March 15 - 125/78, pulse 65
March 16 - 134/91, pulse 66
The doc recommended I research DashDiet.org. So, I actually went to B&N and picked up the book. How fucking depressing.....makes me angry. I don't want to do this.

I also started my first pill in my Chantix starter pack today. When I tried it before, the only side effect was about 20 minutes or so of nausea. So, I ensured I had something to eat after I took it. Smoked as I normally do today but remember it took 4-6 days or so before it really started to deter me from wanting any.

I start with my personal trainer on the 21st. Been told she's pretty tough, but that's ok. I did an initial assessment about a week or so ago but can't find the damn paperwork, so I'll need to get it printed again. Yesterday, I went and did what they call a CalloriePoint Assessment and a CardioPoint Assessment. Basically, these tell me what zone I need to keep my heart rate at to effectively reach my goal during my workouts.

Anyone know if I can put 97 Passat v6 engine into 97 Cabrio?

Hi, I have a 97 Passat V6 with a good engine but needs too much work to fix. Local person is selling a 97 Cabrio that needs engine replacement but otherwise in good shape. Does anyone know I can put the Passat engine into the Cabrio, and comments on whether that is a good idea or not? Thank you.
