    Question CAN Gateway coding problem

I have a problem with my CAN Gateway coding on my 2000 Passat 3B-B5 2.8L 30V APR

Address 19: CAN Gateway Labels: 6N0-909-901-19.LBL
    Controller: 6N0 909 901
    Component: Gateway K<->CAN 0001
    Coding: 00005
    Shop #: WSC 30067
    VCID: F0930DCEA3BB
    1 Fault Found:
01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded
    35-00 - -

Can anyone help with the correct coding or how I can get it?
Does this mean the CAN Gateway is incorrectly coded, or one of the modules connected to it is incorrectly coded?
Note: This is not causing my other problem, this existed long before the Rough running etc. started.

Any help would be great thanks.

You may have to log into the module to recode it... IIRC, the info is on ross-tech's website. Is the gauge cluster original to the car? The correct coding is determined based on certain features in the car, such as ABS and traction control.

    PROBLEM CORRECTED

    From Ross-Tech
    19 - CAN Gateway: -- KWP-1281
VCDS Works fine. This is physically located in the Instrument Cluster, but functionally it controls communications on the CAN-BUS.
Look at the last digit in the coding. Add the values for the options together to get the correct coding.
    0 - No available equipment
    +1 - Automatic Transmission
    +2 - ABS Brakes
    +4 - Airbags
So, if you want to support Automatic Transmission, ABS Brakes, and Airbags, (add 1+2+4 = 7) = 00007.

I recoded with VCDS-Lite and the DTC is gone.
Does this mean my ABS was not working properly?

    Thanks for your help soundguybob

I'm not certain if not having those options coded in the CAN gateway disables the feature, or if it's simply a matter of which modules the cluster is "looking for"... Will ask around to some of the "cluster guru's" and see if anyone knows.
