    .

99 V6 passat with 119,500 miles. Been running great. Go to change oil and removing oil cap I see a lot of yellow sludge built up. I've read that it could be due to not allowing the engine to fully warm up and taking lots of short trips especially in the winter time, but is there any additional specific notes about the passat? Any seals that probably need to be checked / looked at?

    yellow crud

I found the same yellow sludge when I changed out my pcv valve. Let me know if you find out what it is and whether it has any significance.

It's normal with cold weather/short trips.
