    locating front towing eye

    hi,

I've got a 1999 1.8 B5 passat, but its not starting due to an electrical problem. I need to tow it to the local garage but I can't for the life of me find the front towing eye. according to the haynes manual there is one there, but I can't locate it.

    a picture would be helpful.

    Sir

It´s located beneath the left side of the lower grill, which has to be popped of.
After that, you have to srew in, your towing eye which should be stored with your car-jack.

They are not used for towing, only snatching you out of a ditch or something. there are body plugs underneath that are removed to reveal holes to secure it to the truck bed. Flat bed only. I know, I watched them hook me up twice.

Any good towing company will know where they are. More than likely there are plugs in them now which are covered with the underbody coating stuff.
