    Window off track

Without any warning the drivers side window has come off track. Thr edge closest to door handle appears to remain on track, but edge closest to mirror appears to be the problem. I do not have a repair manual and can't even figure out how to even get the door panel off. I DIY on my Miata routinely, but this will be a first for my 2002 Passat wagon. Any words of advice? Until I can get a manual any help would be appreciated.

I believe there is a write up in the information index. I think it said it takes two hours. I have a window off track and havent tried it yet because its cold and the window can stay stuck up for all I care until spring.

Follow this write up to get into the door:
If the window has simply come out of the mount, then you won't need to take the inner metal door panel out. Can be fixed in 10-15 min total once you know what you're doing. If the mechanism has broken, then it's a bit more in-depth...
