Yeah, AutoX looks cool before you do in and then its http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/xyxnervous.gif INSANE http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/eek.gif the first time, just nuts and totally out of control and then it becomes like a drug and you keep wanting to do it. For me its all about the challenge and the competition, and burning gasoline. There are guys with Stock Miatas who repeatably beat all the Vipers, so its more about driving than anything...however, I do plan (read: want) to get some New Springs/Shocks (maybe lower, but if only an inch, not anything noticeable or speed bump finder) and maybe some better flowing exhaust, and then I can run STS (Street Tired Sedan) Class, which is cool because it puts me against a bunch of sedans (3-series bmws, accords, wrxs) and I think I should be able to smoke em, because right now (withOUT mods) my times are similar. A note about chips, they are considered an engine mod in AutoX, and it puts you in some crazy Modified Class, where everybody has cars with Roll Bars and fiberglass body panels and sponsors and stuff, so if anybody asks I don't have a Neuspeed 1.1bar P-Chip. And I don't know why a chip puts you in the next class because a V6 Passat has almost as much power as a 1.8T with a chip. Anyway, hope to see some more Passats at the San Diego AutoX, so far mine is the only one to run this year...
