I am a member of an troupe that performs at local Ren Faires. Our home faire is the Festival of the Lion held in Grafton MA, and is on Aug 24 and 25. This year's theme is a band of mercenaries has sunk a pirate ship in the harbor, and the king's guard is accused of hiring the mercs to do the deed. If you have ever been there you know what i am talking about.....Moon palace beach, which is in Riviera Maya...just south of hotel zone in Cancun, does not even come close to the beaches of resorts up the strip in Cancun.

Not a very close up shot of me (but then again, don't get too close when backpacking without a dip in a lake!) This was taken on Rock Island in Door County, WI. As you can see, I'm not in the ultralight fastpackers camp (I'm always prepared) :)

ON EDIT: speaking of being prepared, Rock Island experiences fast changing weather patterns. In 18 hours, we saw sun, rain, sleet, snow, high winds, and temps between 32º and 68ºF! :shock:

You know this photo posting topic is occuring in droves again. This site is getting a larger member base so it may not work, but, a number of sites I go to allow picture hosting for the site.

For instance, I go to a site for my 77 Scout II, the new version of the site allows us to store pictures up to a specified disk quota (I think 1 or 2 Mb). If you optimize your pictures you can cram a lot in there. The site currently has not restriction on what you can store. Most, if not all, of the users have site related pictures, some don't so they can have pics hosted for free.

I guess I'm saying that when Thanasi comes back we could maybe discuss with him about having an option like that. The disk quota could be something like 1Mb/user x 6000 users = 6000Mb or 6Gb. I know 1mb seems small, but the web only recognized 72dpi and such so you don't need the real high quality posting. If you kept all the jpg pics around medium quality at around 640x480 they could be around 35Kb, you could have a lot of pictures hosted. Of course you can remove and replace with others.

Well, that's my .02 and I apologize for throwing the thread off topic.

Actually, one of the young teachers at school explained this to me at play rehersal one day. Alot of women prefer shorter hair, but grow out their hair before the wedding so they have alot of options when it comes time to get their hair done (can cut long hair, but can't make hair grow in a day). That way, long hair for wedding, but thats sorta aggrivating, so they get it cut afterwards.
Yeah, short hair's hot.

Changes emotionally, or with jobs, or whatever.. that's when I chop my hair. I think it just makes you feel like you're 'different' in a way or have a fresh start when you chop your hair. I was famous at my old job for chopping off my hair and dying it strange colours whenever I got upset with something that I couldn't control but was making my life a living hell. I view haircuts as removing past ills, bad feelings, etc, and dye jobs as attitude boosters. I tend to get them when I feel the tide has turned or that I am ready to go in for a kill. I will, however, ignore my "scientist hair" for over a year if not provoked. Needless to say that is a source of some friction with my spouse. Right now I have serious "science hair" and am probably about a month away from a major hair job.

FWIW, I got a ceasar cut and dyed it almost white a month after I got my Passat. I was so happy that I had to get rid of my old hair - it was holding me back too much and I wasn't enjoying the car as much as I wanted to!

I will get a real picture of myself this weekend.

A little background on that pic, it's about 10 years old and was taken at about 2:30am after a bar concert. There's a little bit of eyeliner left, and the beginnings of a black eye from the mosh pit. The oly reason my hair was still standing was the egg whites and hair gel cocktail propping it up. Unfortunately, I never got a pic of the replacement hair. Bright copper, with a black hand print on the right side. The mohawk ended up about 13" high.
