This is my Second Passat-
The first one was a 1999 1.8t 5-speed with Neuspeed chip-
The new car is great, every Passat could use an upgraded suspension and bigger wheels and tires. The V6 is a champion on the freeway. Yes, the 1.8t was quicker, though the V6 is a nicer on the highway-<p>

Looking good man! http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif
Hmm I haven't seen any manual Passat V6's?!?

How much did the neuspeed springs lower your car?

How is the Blaupunkt San Jose MP3 player? http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/biggrin.gif

Is the antenna and EuroSwitch easy to replace?

Thanks guys!

I'm totally pumped with the way it turned out. Still pretty stock looking, but just different enough to keep me happy. Great ride. Great handling

Makes the S4 wheels look more natural on this car.
To be honest I'm not exactly sure how much the it lowered the car. Notice the wheel gap though, it's not slammed by any means, plenty of wheel travel and no rubbing on my car. I would say it lowered the car over an inch-

The Antenna is a screw on item, Not 100% flush, but close enough. Time: Two seconds and twenty bones.

Again the Euroswitch is simple to install as well. You simply push and turn.

I like the Blaupunkt. I obvously wish it was black rather than silver. Also there is no dimmer so I use tinted static tape on the display.
Blaupunkts install easily. Crutchfield has a nice adapter- connecting this puppy was easy, though we did solder the wires together.
Much better reception than my stock deck. Quick loading times on large MP3 disks.

Thanks for the info Jon!

I was looking for the Blaupunkt San Joe mp3 player at Best Buy and Circuit city and could find it. I guess I will have to order it online or go to one of the expencive stereo places. http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/rolleyes.gif

In general on a B5.5 the Neuspeed SofSports lower it 1", and the Neuspeed Sport Springs lower it 1.5".

Fry's had the Blaupunkt San Jose MP41 in stock a while back- Probably around $3bills. Though you can do better on ebay.

This technology is obviously advancing rapidly. You may want to take a look at the Sony and Alpine products as well.

I dig the interior!!!!

I wish I had wood grain in my car, I wanted the 1.8t over the V6, but VW punishes you for that decision and gives you the non wood interior http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/frown.gif

how do you like the V6, haven't ever driven one, they sound nice!!!!

The V6 is a nice motor. Smooth very relaxed. Too relaxed?
Not super responsive- But once you get used to the throttle response, you realize the torque curve is pretty good.
Still a loafer and it's not the lightest engine in the world that's for sure.

It does sound good kinda cool though.

Most people think the wood is fake ! But, I like it. They make some great aftermarket kits that probably look better and are more encompassing.

Hey, I notice you got a custom exhaust for your V6. I have an 03 GLX manual and would love to get an upgraded exhaust. As you no doubt know, there isn't much out there for the V6 FWD. What kind of research did you do, and what did you end up with?

TIA!

Hey Jon, how's that Neuspeed V6 chip working out -- Could you tell any difference?
I'm considering GIAC for my Variant, but they're making a new code to match the slightly different 2002 specs.
The SofSports look like they lowered a little more than 1".
Well, I always miss my previous Blue Anthracite 1.8T, and your V6 looks great. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif

Custom-I didn't want to spend $6 or 700 bucks on a complete system. I ended up spending about $400-Though the shop I went to agreed to make changes if I was not satisfied-Which they did twice http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/biglaugh.gif
-The biggest issue is the resonance you will experience upon removing the suitcase muffler under the rear seat. The rear most muffler is more of a resonator.
If you are under the car, we cut from about 8 inches behind the cats, removing the entire exhaust system from there on-
-The shop created a nice y-pipe which leads into a 22 inch Glass-pack.
-Which in turn leads into a 14-inch glass pack-which I may now have removed.(more on that later)
-Finally we finished the system off with a Magnaflow muffler-Way loud !!!!!Boomy at lower rpms !
-We then removed the Magnaflow muffler, and placed a plain jane Turbo Muffler in it's place. Very quiet- Not much sound-sounds a bit louder than stock, not much really-
Now I'm trying to find a new muffler that will add at least some sound.
The power increase can be felt. More so than the chip.

I will post some pictures soon, once I'm totally satisfied, and get the approval of some other VW/Audi owners-

Not bad, thankfully it was cheap. Seems slightly more responsive, though it also seems to stutter a bit now an then....I actually just posted the issues I'm seeing, or feeling.

They sure did.

Yeah, love those wheels. However, I think I'm moving to a Sube Legacy GT and they probably won't fit- Bummer
