I want a discreet location, I am thinking under the parcel shelf in trunk. What do you suggest?

I have my JL Audio amps under the shelf in the trunk. Out of the way for cargo, and not noticable unless you're looking. Too bad my sub box isn't that well placed. The JLs fair well upside down, and other amps may not. However, I've seen members create a little bracket that hangs from the shelf and the amp is mounted to it right-side-up.

A couple strips of metal holds my amps up to my rear deck. The amps are screwed to the metal strips and then the strips are screwed into the rear deck. This allows for some air to circulate on the top (or technically bottom as they are turned upside down) for cooling.
I would only suggest mounting JL amps upside down as they are designed for it. Other amps may overheat if they are mounted under the rear deck.

Just to let you know... Ron stole his idea from me... and tried to one-up it by using metals bars rather than the wood board I have. http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/wink.gif
Just pulling your leg, Ron... especially after you cave me that "copycat" bday card. http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/biglaugh.gif

I did install mine under the shelf in the trunk. In this way you will have the all the space in the trunk and avoid hitting the amplifier with any stuff inside the trunk.

Eric: You know I take a look at my options out there and take the best one (IMO of course) and make it better. It's worked so far http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/biggrin.gif
You can only put your amp in the shelf area if it is small enough. Not all amps can fit in there.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I am going to try the shelf area.
