View Full Version : Any HUs w/ audio in?

I am looking for a HU w/ an audio input. Anyone have any suggestions? I would like to run an iPod through it.

Blaupunkt vs. Clarion? Which brand do you like? I am leaning towards Blaupunkt because of the
OEM like colors. But I don't know anything about Blaupunkt navigation systems (any good?).

Any pics of the DXZ925 installed? It looks weird and cool at the same time.

Any pics of the IDC-A09 installed?

I have also seen several pics of a factory style double-din nav deck. Where can I find this and for how much?

JVC SH909 has 2. One in the back and one in the front call the MP3 port. If you check search, you will see pictures of it when I was in the field looking for an HU. I went with the JVC.

Most of them are rear, a few front and one f/r(model posted above).
On Blaupunkt model audio input is optional.

All of the Nakamichi H/u's have rear inputs

The top 3-4 models from Eclipse have Aux-In. I have last year's lowest model that had Aux-In and it is still a kick-ass unit.

The mid-price and higher Alpine HUs have AUX IN. You can automatically switch over to it, as well, by some simple front panel programming. That feature is handy for having, say, Cellphone audio playback through the car speakers, etc., when the Alpine MUTE input is invoked. This AUX IN also works for other line level inputs, like external MD players, etc...

How are the JVC's? Did you go with that one just because of the AUX IN in the front? What do you know about their reliability, reputation and quality. I have "chosen" an Eclipse to be installed, but, other than the chrome face, I really liked the JVC Arsenal KD-SH9750. What do you think?

the jvc sh-707 also has a line in and an mp3 input on the front, plus the lights match out interiors perfectly
