Got the Adapter from RCAinput.com

took a second to realize that it didn't plug into the HU but instead that plug in the trunk where the Changer is. So the changer is out and there is a wire running to the DVD player under the glove box.

Lost the changer but gained an MP3 player so now a few CDs and my whole collection is in the car.

I still need to wire up the headrest displays but the indash works great!!

I'm hoping the second display arrives this week so I have a nice long weekend to get it all sinched up and just right.

looks good! Are you gonna run PS2 or Xbox? I'm still contemplating which one to do.

J, Theres got to be a way to double the wire up so you can have changer and dvd running on the same wire into your HU... Its 4 wires or so right? If you could piggy back off of them that would work and then put a switch in so you can pick which one to run... I would worry about if you had both going dvd/changer that something might go wrong with the wiring "fire". But I wanna do this install same as you but I wont live without the changer... IT WILL BE DONE OH YES!!!

something would tempt me to skimp out on a DVD player and just use the PS2 for movies

Thanks guys!! I'm loving it, drove in to work this morning watching Veggie tales... (damn funny those silly songs) played a few MP3z after that, very nice.

Won't add a game system. I've never been into them, Though if someone brought one, the monitor has a plug for RCAs into the side so you could power the game off the lighter and play.

I would imagine you could wire up some sort of switch and just tap the wires to the corresponding wire on the changer, but since teh DVD player plays MP3s a few CDs puts my whole collection in the car vs just 6 CDs with 12-16 songs.

The Monitor is no name brand :-) (cheapness) I can look at the box to see if there is a name somewhere on it, but the display itself just says "5 inch in dash LCD monitor" I think a lot of them pivot left to right but not sure, I like that feature a lot.

How is the DVD/MP3 player when going over bumps and rough roads? Does it skip a lot or at all?

So far so good. I thought it maty not handle well but it didn't miss a beat last night or today on the way to work. Said it had 10 second read ahead so that probably helps too.

that looks pretty sweet!! nice setup! If I had a DVD in my car I am sure to cause an accident...Thats just me...becareful hope you dont use it while driving. I see some cars with all 3-4 screens on while on the road with only the driver in the car...I cant help but laugh. I dont watch much TV and if I am gonna sit infront of something thats gonna take an hour or 2 it might as well be a film at the theater or a video on my large screen...but it is super in high traffic to get the news or parked someplace on a road trip...Nice!

btw...a touch off topic...but I watched "The Sum of All Fears" last night....WOW!!!! super flick!!..Also last week I watched "Bourne Identity"...it was good, but after "The Sum of All Fears"...it was a bit pale in comparison

Thanks Jon, I learned from the master :-)

THough I do have a questions. Anyone know how best to power the headrest displays? Is there power somewhere convenient?

I can see how easy it would be. Luckilly I mostly use it when alone to play MP3s so I just ahve to advance through them like I would ont he changer. Much safer :-)

I'm reading the book now, as soon as I finish if it's still in theatres LOL I'll go see it.

ooooh I didnt see it all tucked away like that ...very stealthy!!...I like that even more now.

The books are always better, but the film was surely entertaining.

I was thinking for the future car entertainment gadgets...maybe a projection style that mounts on the over head rear and projects the film on the front windshield...even the ratio would be nice...wide screen.....where ever you park you have yourself a Drive in theater!!....hahhaha
