I'm not familiar with the GS-D3's, but I am familiar with the GS-D2's -- they're the OEM tire on my mom's 2001 MBZ E430.

My opinion: they're far below what else is available for the price. Wet grip isn't anything special (I'll let you know about dry grip after I take it to a track day), they howl like a sonuvab----, and the car seriously wanders if there are undulations or ruts in the road, especially if they're cold.

I'm planning on getting Dunlop SP5000's when they're due for replacing. Just my $0.02.

They do get noisy on the E-Class. I find they're a bit too "square-shouldered" for the E-Class' high (positive) caster & toe settings. They start to feather on the edges all too soon and begin to make the car sound like it's got bad bearings. I had them on my A2 Jetta (slight negative camber & near zero toe) and they were great in the dry but after 50% treadwear they were so-so in the rain.

Not only that, but since they're 235's and the rim is only 7.5" wide, the sidewalls tend to bulge a bit, too.

Thanks for the excellent feedback on the GSD2's, although I don't have this model tire. I have the GSD3's. Here is the link.

I really didn't mention the price however I got an unbelievably good deal due to currency exchage rate and an independantly owned goodyear vendor. How about 525 bucks........? for all 4 including mounting & balancing http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/biggrin.gif It was relatively warm (85) yesterday and they felt very sticky.

Your link didn't work, but I think I found a pic of it anyway.

EDIT: it's not listed anywhere on the Goodyear.com site, but it's on the opening homepage...interesting...

Your exactly right, the only goodyear vendors that sell it looks like the German vendors. Even more reason to get feedback on such a new tire. Cheers mate.
