Hi Ernie,
I was doing a search for boost gauge installs and I saw that you have one. A-Pillar is out of the question for me, so I was wondering where you installed yours.
Thanks,
Errin

Hi Ed. I was looking at the 42Designs website. Is it something like that?

the 42 designs one is pretty much just a blank din with holes drilled into them. so essentially yes thats how the gauges were mounted. but what ernie did was buy a blank face plate and make the holes for the gauges.
i helped another cb5 member (swett) install it into his open slot. a boost and a/f meter that is http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/thumbup.gif

Hey Ernie,
I'm thinking about removing the stock suit case resonator and replace w/ either a pipe or something that'll give me a better sound but certainly NOT the drone sound or too loud, all while leaving the stock muffler. I was told that you did something similar and would like your opinions and how much did it set you back? I dont' expect any performance increase other than a slight better sound, so I assume it should not cost me more than +/-$100 or so???

haha no i did mine right haha!!! http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/wink.gif http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmilep.gif haha j/p let me know when you want me to fix it.. cuz yours jsut looks like poop http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/angel.gif http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/xyxnervous.gif .. hehe.. i got an extra din cover.. so if someone needs one hit me up.. an di'll make you one... http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/angel.gif

landarcht, yeah it was a pretty simple mod. what i did was i got a 12inch glasspack installed inplace of the suitcase resonator. the 12inch is louder/drone. for less droning etc. get a longer/larger glasspack. something like an 18inch should be fine. at the time i got mine the shop only had 12inch ones and since i dont like waiting i just settled for it. but i am very satisfied with it. you can try valley muffler wayyyy down on valley. near walnut/la puente. ive been told this costs about 40-70. i paid about 60. glasspack and installation. hth
james, lol i know!! Argh oh well hehe. yeah once i get some free time ill give you a call. http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/biggrin.gif

So you think 18" will have less drone? I'm wondering will it ever get lounder as time goes on? How about the muffler? Did you change that too? I plan just to keep the stock one on. I'll check out Valley Muffler, how's their reputation? Thanks.

yeah 18" will have less droning. ive had mine for a few and its gotten a little louder. if you want we can meet up and you can hear for yourself im always out in alhambra eating. no i have the stock muffler on still. valley muffler is good i know a lot of people that go there. there's another shop in covina that i heard is pretty good ill let you know the name and location of it asap.

Hey fellas. I've just been lurkin' lately. Lots of new faces in these parts it seems. Haven't done anything with my ride lately. Still have the bad control arms. Fell in love with the Brilliant Red A4 Avant at the car show though. Did you guys make it out there? If so, did you see the S4 and RS6 downstairs with the Mono 10s? I'll keep my eye out in the gatherin's for the the next one.
