is this direct bolt on and if so are their any ill effects from running it?

No ill effects whatsoever. EuroVR6 can attest to this. Definitely a direct replacement.

and this fits right where the DV currently is? also any pics ?

Goes right in where the old DV is at. Don't have any pictures, but you may want to see if EuroVR6 can possibly help in that dept.
