Hey Eric,
Great looking car. I'm thinking about doing springs and shocks this summer.
I'm looking to improve the "Interstate 280"handling. How does your car ride on the rough bay area roads?
I would most likely go with a Neuspeed setup. Do you recommend?

Looking good Eric! Lipper, I've got the Neuspeed/Bilstein combo as well and am always on 280 whenever I'm up north...(I live off Magdalena) It doesn't lower too much (Only 1.5" all around) so it will stand up to the bay area roads pretty well. The setup is nice but it is harsher than stock. But what you sacrifice for comfort you gain in performance! Just find yourself a nice set of quiet tires and the highway driving will be more comfortable. The Pirelli P7000's Eric and I have can get pretty loud.

Chris is right on the button. The P7000's do get loud. THe neuspeed/bilstein combo is the best I've driven with so far (less coils-overs). I drive 280 every single day 365 days a year. I must say the shocks/springs hold up well, but my face cringes everytime I go over those road construction bumps on the overpasses. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emcrook.gif

Especially with the 18's now! http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/biggrin.gif Eric, how was the install for your leather? Did it take long? Is that Katzkin? It looks great!
Eric, by any chance, are you the "Eric Tam" of Magic the Gathering fame?

Nice guys.
Yeah, when they are done with 280, that road should be nice, again.
My Passat is great on Roads like 85 where there aren't many undulations.
Stable enough.
However, 280 southbound, just past the Page Mill exit, there is a sweeping right hander. You go over a bridge. (basically over Arastradero)There is a major bumb. My stock B5.5 bounces 3-times and wallows side to side like my Grandmothers Le Sabre. My buddies Neuspeed equipped Jetta takes the same bump with one bounce. He had the Sports with the Bilstiens-
Currently I have 17s with Kuhmos. I'd love to get a ride in one your cars.
Chris,
My parents live up by Bullis. I think I have seen that Silver Passat up around those parts. Though I have a few buddies who live off of Camino Hermosa and Ravensbury rd. So maybe it was over there. Do you know the Vidinskys?
I really want to make the change, just need some seat time.

I used to LOVE Magic. Played it in college all Freshman year. But alas, I am not the well renouned Eric that you think I am. He actually lives in Canada, and I'm much better looking than he is http://www.clubb5.com/images_forum/wink.gif
Jon, Chris, we should totally meet up for lunch sometime!

Nice mods. A few questions. Why did you get rid of the Bailey DV? What file are you running with the K04? Some nice numbers you're putting down. How do you like the K04's performance?
