Hey guys this may be a easy question for most of you but I need help. I bought my 06 passat 6 days ago. I noticed the other day that my headlights are allways on. (not my DRL's ) but my actuall headlights. This annoys me, it seems as if the wires might be crossed or what not. If I turn my headlights on there is no difference other than the DRLs come on.
Needless to say the car was bought 6 days ago and I feel it should be working flawlessly. I dont want to take it to the dealership and spend a whole day waiting if its something that can be fixed in 10 minutes.
Any Ideas?????
Thank Guys!!!!!!!!

Looks like somebody has turned the scandinavian DRL-function on, via VAGCOM. Then the headlights are supposed to be on all the time, expect when in parkinglight-mode.

your headlights are the DRLs. DRLs, are only about 96% intensity of the low beams.

So my only option is to find someone w/ a vag-com huh? That sux, no big deal for the time being I guess. It just annoys me.
Where can I get my hands on a Vag -com? Do local shops have em? Or should I take it back to the dealership and see if they will change it?
Again I appreciate the info

if you can convince the dealerships to do it.... don't be suprised about getting charged an hour's labor.

I personally am a believer in DRLs, but not a believer in stupid set-ups that I see on other cars, and not a fan of reducing low-beam bulb life either.
So I have VAG-COMed my DRLs to work through the fog lights, and I have vagged the Scandinavian program as well, which I feel is more intelligent. I have seen too many turkeys driving along at night with no tail lights because their DRLs are on and they think that therefore their headlights are on. It's especially bad on cars with electronic instrument lights.
At least if senility catches up to me, I'll been seen from behind as well as from ahead. Moreover, the fog lights don't put out as long a beam as the low beams so I am bound to notice if I forget to turn on my headlights.
