Wait, what?
Didn't VW have a similar program to this before? It wasn't in place when I bought my '03, but wasn't it there on the 2001.5 models? Wasn't the complaint that the dealership service bays were too full? Don't get me wrong, I like the idea, I'm just trying to understand what the impact will be at the street level. I'd like to think that the dealer will use the correct spec synth oil, too.

My '95 VW had a 2-year warranty and 2 years of service covered. '98 did not.
I personally think it's a bad idea: big hassle for the DIYer and increased vehicle price. But it's great for leases because the lessor has better assurance that the car was properly serviced.
