Exclamation Retracting the "pain in the rear" caliper piston

The caliper pistons on my 2006 2.0T have 3 slots and the retraction kit I got from Auto Zone doesn't have an adapter that fits. I haven't found any mention of this which has added to my frustration since finding out these pistons have to be turned and pushed at the same time. I did try to use the tool to compress the piston and channel locks to turn it and after a couple hours, a lot of F bombs and a tear in the dust boot I walked away. So my question, is there a 3 prong retraction tool, oh and is there a good way to repair the dust boot? It's a small tare.

Do not turn the piston! The rear pistons will not open without vag com. Did my rear brakes and rotors this summer. It WILL NOT work without vag com

For added clarification to the OP, since your rear parking brake is electronic/electric. You need either Vag com or an OEM compatible handset, such as the LAUNCH system to retract the piston. The pistons clamp automatically when you park you car.

Hey everyone...I know the VAG-COM is recommended to do this but I successfully have done it with a battery charger and a couple of leads. Took no more than 20 minutes to do both sides and NO ERROR CODES!!!!

So how did you know what the correct polarity was to get the piston to go in the right direction?
