    B6 wagon...Boot light relay location

    Hi all,

I can't seem to get the boot light to come on when i open the boot. I've changed the bulb and got a multimeter on it. It shows 12v when the boot latch is open and 0v when the boot latch is closed. This should mean that the sensors on the boot latch is functioning no?

As soon as i put the bulb back in the voltage reads 0volts. Why could this be happening?

Is there a relay that turns the bulb on/off that is triggered by the sensor in the boot latch?

I've tried to find anything associated to the boot light on VCDS but i can't find where to test the boot light.

    Can anyone shed some light?

    thanks.

There is no relay, the bulb are controlled by the On-board power supply control unit. It might be a faulty wiring somewhere.

ah ok. thanks for the reply.
Looks like it won't be easy to trace the problem in the wiring
