    VAG.com for a Passat

Is there anything such as a list of features for a B6 Passat that can be changed with a VAG.com?
I.e daylight running lights, number of blinker impulses for lane changing, etc.

I have no clue which factory settings can be changed. Would somebody here please enlighten me a little?

I don't know if there is a list, but some things you can/have to do

    1) enable HID's if you add them on through an aftermarket kit, not like on the b5/5.5's where you just pull a relay.

    2) Alarm chirp adjustment

    etc

The only list that I can think of would probably be in a Bentley manual, or I am sure there is a list floating around if you google it, although it may not include everything.

www.ross-tech.com has a page with most of the various things that can be changed. Every now and then, someone discovers a new thing.

Can you change the light output percentage so you can run DRLs with aftermarket HIDs?

Wjhat would one have to do to get those LED's (as seen in this forum) to be used as daylight running lights? (besides from buying the LED strips and gluing them to the vehicle)

    yes you can.

I'll dig up a screenshot I made for the 'tex

    under central electronics

Presumeably, the Dec should be set at 100

I made my fogs as the DRLs... so I wouldn't have to worry about flickering from DRLs

Emergency Brake Light Flashing works. Had it go one during one commute...

Bit 4 is if you want to make the fogs function as DRLs. I did.
Bit 5 is if you want the fogs to work with high beams

Do you mean the S5 look headlights? Install new eadlights, turn on "scanadanavian DRL" in Vag Com and disable fog and low beam as DRL. The Scandanvian setting turns on all of the marker or parking lights.

OP, just so you know, the correct title is VAG-COM as in Volkswagen Auto Group Computer, not www.vag.com, which I am assuming is some kind of strange porn site...

Also, to note, the program from Ross Tech is now called VCDS.

I think I should have asked it this way. Can you use your HIDs as DRL and change the light output to 100%? From the screen shot you provided, can't I just uncheck the box for Bit 0?

I think you may be a bit confused. When you are enabling HID's, you have to turn off the DRL's, because if you don't, you will kill your HID's as there is not enough power for them. So if you have HID's, DRL's are no longer applicable in your application. Do you understand what I mean?

I was thinking more of those separate LED Strips. I have adaptive curve lights (or what ever the official VW name is), and I want to keep them. and my fog lights.

sounds like a good price. That interface will work with b6

    but

    from Ross tech FAQs http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/faq_3.html#3.10

3.10 Can I sell my VAG-COM System to someone else?

You can sell the Interface, but the software license and support are not transferable.

If you have a "dumb" interface and the purchaser wants the full-function version, he will have to register as a new user for $99.

All of our Current Interfaces act as "dongles" for VAG-COM, so the software should be fully functional on any PC that meets our requirements. However, we only provide support to the original purchaser. If you purchase a second-hand "dongle" Interface and want to be a "registered user" and get technical support, you'll still need to pay $99 to register. 2nd hand owners of Ross-Tech Interfaces are not eligible for any of our Trade-In offers.
