if you look under your car on the bottom of your water pump it should be right there.

hey ,seem like you know your car pretty well ,on the r/s of engine there seems to be a fan/blower ,has perforated hose running to it ,well either sense the accident or the hot weather its now noticeable ..as we hear it when we start the car it sounds like a rocket ship ... now is it maybe a pre heater ? or force air to turbo for cold starts i have now idea at the moment ,jsut wondering if maybe you do or anyone else does

That's the SAIP, secondary air injection pump, at the right front of the car. Failure of it or related components causes fault code P0411. Search will get you more hits than you know what to do with...

It is supposed to help get the cats up to operating temp quicker during cold starts. Should cycle on for a minute or so during a cold start and then maybe kick on one more time depending on temps/conditions. It's pretty loud normally but if it's getting louder it might be on its way out. Not a big problem if you're not getting a code though.
