    Maf front cracked

I was trying to charge battery overnight. I set the charger in the engine compartment and shut hood in case of rain. When I took it out I saw that I cracked the cover over the maf sensor just a little one can I glue a piece over it to keep air tight and use it or just buy a new one? I tred a search for the part 07813347C. I found one for over 200 found one that had an E not the C at the end and it was 20. Is it worth the try to cover over the crack with another piece of plastic glued with epoxy Or kick myself and just get new one?

You didn't say what year or engine, and didn't give a complete part number either.

    078133471E is for ATQ v6 engines 2002 -2005
    078133471C is for AHA v6 engines 1999-2001
    As best I can tell.
You can find both on Ebay used. fcpeuro and ECS have new Hitachi MAFs for 149 - 155.
There's a place called MAFsensor.com has what I'ms sure are some chinese knockoff for 69. (not for me, but you can try it)

Sorry I have a 99 v6 passat. And like you I do not want a chinese one i want something dependable. i would rather pay for something I can trust than spend half and get junk. Do you think I need to replace it is a small crack in the housing. But it is over the electronic stuff in there. Thanks for your help do you know which part #and is the Rock parts place a good store?
