    Check the info forum?

    IIRC, there is a DIY for intalling a R32 steering wheel which describes how to remove the airbag. It's not that hard just remember to disconnect the battery first. There are two clips which hold it in. They can be released by inserting a small screw driver into the two holes in the back of the steering wheel. The wheel has to be tuened before you can access the holes.

    If you look at the back of the wheel the are two holes at 3 and 9 and you stick a screw driver in to release the bag, really hard the first couple times, but I can do one in like 15 seconds now;

    For anyone who is doing this for the first time, I'll toss in my .02

    It's kinda like the first time you......well, nevermind

    The steering wheel has to be turned 1/4 turn to access the holes on the back. Look at the backside of the steering wheel, into those 2 holes.

    There is a metal wire (looks like a piece of coat-hanger wire) laying across a metal surface inside the steering wheel, which you can see if you look in the hole. Simply slide that metal wire towards the center hub of the steering wheel, and you will hear/feel a POP as it releases the spring on that side of the wheel. Do the same on the other side, and the airbag will come off.

    I did it my first time in about 45 seconds, it's REAL easy.

    I just replaced the turn signal switch today. What a pain in the a$$!! Most difficult part was removing the airbag. I must have spent the better part of 90 minutes trying to figure out how to release the springs. Good as new now though.
