    built up pressure valve cover

    Hello,

So here it is, I replaced my old leaky valve cover gasket with a new OEM one, RTV, torqued it down to spec. 03 1.8t 5spd. I am still getting oil coming out the back of the cover. I just changed out the puck valve on advice that it might be the cause, nope not it. The old and new puck valves act the same way. A few weeks back my friend was driving behind me and said he saw light blue smoke from my exhaust when I was decelerating from 4th to 3rd.

Nuisance from here is a good friend and he was saying he doesn't think its the seals. My engine is in really good shape, well taken cared of.

    Any ideas anyone?

You can always check your oil to see if its milky. Also, check all the parts of the pcv system. They can be causing pressure to build up.

And perhaps excess blowby caused by the clogged pcv system is seepin past your piston rings causing a slight amount of oil to be burned. Im no expert, though

You didn't replace the cam tensioner gasket did you? A lot of oil will come out the back of the valve cover area through here. Looks like this:

Only costs $5-10 and should get replaced when doing a valve cover.
