    P0011 engine code

    2003 1.8t with 93000 miles...

Came up with P0011 engine code, from what I've searched the timing belt could be the issue but I just had it changed along with the water pump at 80000 miles so I doubt that. Last oil change was at 86500, so I'm thinking that might be the problem. Any suggestions on what to do? Any input would be much appreciated.

oil level is usually an independent light that would come out, it wouldn't normally throw an error code on the check engine light

Any noise from the Cam Chain Tensioner?

I would also check the oil pressure to make sure sludge is not a problem.

There are tons of threads on sludge, search and you will find.

Uh oh... All I can find on that code is the cam tensioner/timing belt... What, did the belt break and throw a rod through your motor???

I don't see it being that because the last time the car was on it sounded and ran perfectly normal besides the CEL being on. I haven't tried starting it up yet again

Update: There is now a slight whirring sound and an intermittent but frequent high-pitched rattle-y noise.

The belt definitely didn't break but its sounding more and more like the cam tensioner

Did you check how much oil was lost and where it came from? Any noise may simply be a lack of oil at this point.

Yeah the weird part is when i checked the oil level, it was fine, a little low but not below minimum. I haven't been able to see where the oil was coming from yet as it wasn't dripping anymore this morning which also strikes me as strange.
