Lol, my idiot neighbor took the spot in front of my house so I had to park my Yukon in my driveway next to my wagon. My driveway is narrow between my house and my neighbors and it widens before my garage in the back and I was trying to get the passat out and ended up in a hole. After working 9-5 all weekend and just getting home in the pouring rain I was very angry. I had to get my dad to come to my house to pull me out with his Silverado because my Yukon was blocked in by the stuck passat. So yea, I should have been paying better attention but oh well, all is good now.

Finished installing the warning triangle last night. It was much easier once I thought to use synthetic grease to mark where to cut/drill. The hardest part was getting the nylon inserts to fit in the square holes. I had to trim them down a little just to push into the holes.

Oil change and filter. Finally replaced the vacuum line from N249 to the DV while I had the belly pan off. Also finally ordered a new dipstick and tube, and some bits for PCV overhaul. Still haven't gotten around to replacing my lower CAs. The shock mount bushings are shot and its pretty rough on stutter bumps. Maybe next weekend.

Finally got around to ordering and installing the driver's door grab handle. Decided to stick with black since the original interior is black. I think it makes for a nice contrast color, not to mention it won't show the dirt as easily as a grey handle would.

I bought an ECS Stage 2 Big Brake kit during their holiday discounts and just bought these chrome roof rails from Kevin. I hope they survive the trip across the pond!

Hopefully they should be here within 5 7 days but I am still waiting for the 4 pieces of door trim so I can get the skirts painted. Apparently they were sent by sea by mistake or just to rip me off

I forget what brand it is and where I got it from. It's a B5 badgeless grill that replaces the stock (VW logo in the center) grill. This one is black plastic but I've seen them advertised in chrome too. I added an .:R logo to the passenger side. It's a clip-in I found on ebay.

Dave, I've seen the German color bars and German flag, but I can't find them at the moment.
    Something like this...

I loved the integrated parking sensors on the B7 I drove, so I bought a generic Chinese backup sensor kit, and installed it on my B5.5 today; it's not bad. I haven't tried it while backing up with my trailer connected yet, I might need to put in a switch for that.

Plasti dipped the torn up hubcaps until I can make a deal on some rims. Not too shabby for a winter spray. Sorry for the shitty cellphone pics, brought in my DSLR today maybe I'll go get some nice shots over lunch.

I'm not a big fan of black wheels, but black hubcaps, not too shabby not bad for a temp fix until you get your wheels...good lookin' car.

Got some new to me 17x7 Porsche Cup II wheels from a neighbor for a song, perfectly round and ready to refinish, then mount some winter rubber on, or if I procrastinate, some track shoes. They are light!

Best part is they will fit over Boxter Brembos with 13.1" rotors. I can finally part out my Vancouvers.

Your neighbors are so much better than mine.

He had a set of 5x100 to 5x130 adapters too, but I couldn't use them (and they were as much as the wheels to boot.)

By the time I get these refinished, get some 25mm adapters and some painted crest OE Porsche center caps, I will probably have spent close to $600, but it sure doesn't hurt as much when it is paid out in smaller lumps. Hard not to say yes when I got the wheels for $36 each...

I finally installed an Audi A6 stress bar. I've had it for a few months sitting around. I should've installed it right after I bought it, the difference in handling is so much better.

I need to get the other one under the car now.

If they're good and light, put your track tires on those.

Now that you've put some miles on the tdi and got to know it better, what do you think about it? How's the fuel consumption?
