Swapped out the stock HU for a Kenwood KDC-BT652U.
Then finally changed the driver's door panel from the sagging fabric one to a grey leather one.

Lost all the luv I was feeling after replacing a steering rack, cv axle, oxygen sensor, coolant temp sensor, new double din, interior and exterior detailing, polishing my headlights and other things I don't remember this year. I was thinking it's time for tires, maybe I will change the wheels too. Then I noticed the numerous paint chips on the hood, the permanent water spots and the measling plastic on the aftermarket headlight and I thought do I really want to put lipstick on a pig? And then as I got in the car to take my sweetie to the movies the 1 yr old battery was totally drained. Then I discovered a coolant and oil leak and the noise I was trying to deny I was hearing was coming from my disintegrated snub. So today I jump started the car and drove to the dealer to purchase some G12. I also ordered a lower radiator hose and a new snub. I'm hoping the dead battery problem fixes itself.
Finally chipped!!!! Unitronic stage 1+ with 220hp and 18psi. I haven't been able to really put it to the test yet because I have to pull the MBC first but already at an easy run its totally worth it!
Drove it in some real snow for the first time, handled it better than my first B5.
Pulled the engine.

Finally put my winter wheels/tires yesterday and right on time. I had to drive back home in the middle of a heavy snow storm.
Time to refinish the 18's and get them ready for the next season![]()
Took my Xmas lights off of the roof rack.

Flipped 190K on the clock.

pulled the head and sent it to the machine shop.
Got a question. Doing custom work on random interior pieces, right now I'm making wood trim on the drivers door pull.
I used a thin piece of oak and marine Tex for starters now I must decide Should I leave the natural color of oak, stain it or try a ''burnt wood'' effect
Stain it imo.
^x2
what color is your interior?
Installed a new K&N yesterday and change the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and tensioner about a months ago.
Finalized my gauge pod install, installed oil pressure relocation kit and got my factory pressure sender back installed. Also had to take apart the window regulator again and got that done. Did a oil change and added auto-rx to the mix. So far Im seeing 5psi boost at idle with it staying good at 20psi and see about 10-15psi more at 2000rpm. Usually would br at 30psi now its at 40-45....Lets see how it stands over the long run though.
I still haven't put the snow tires on. According to The Weather Channel, this Saturday is supposed to be about 38ºF. If I don't take advantage and put the snows on, would one of you please come fine me, poke me right in the eye then scream at the top of your lungs... "That's what you get for not putting the snow tires on when you had the chance"!!!!!
Thank you.
No more wasting time buying yellow fog light bulbs for me!

Scanned it for codes and got this one which I find quite hilarious:

Thanks GIAC Chip, I'll never do it again! lol
Gonzo Tuning Stage 2+ Flash. (Im a week or two behind on posting). Strong and smooth, Love it! Will spin in first and second!
Used some extra connectors I picked last month to build a bench cluster harness so I can troubleshoot my W8 cluster and tweak it before installation.
I am going to change my cluster language to German. That should push my wife over the edge.
W8 cluster foils are presently on my OE V6 cluster. Clearly I need to replace the FIS LCD.

Got new timing belt, water pump and thermostat (apparently I was supposed to put OEM and not aftermartet)
Also new brakes pads, rotors and calipers on all wheels!
Costed me a fortune lol
Used the Snub how to to install a new snub mount. Also installed a lower radiator hose. Broke the plastic clip on the sensor in the hose. Hooray for dealer parts departments that are open at 2 on a Saturday!
Installed a front mount intercooler.

replaced both front axles (bad boots led to worn CV joints...) Went with the Duralast aftermarkets for $60/each and they are fantastic thus far. Also did an oil change and switched over to royal purple.
Moved a month ago and I just pulled my 99 Passat wagon into my new pole barn. Worked on it all last summer, CCM type problems and now I think it's the ECU. It's taking valuable time away from my '84 Rabbit project which I just picked up from 2 years in storage.
