    Car battery slightly tilted

I have to replaced my 7yr old battery in my car. I have read here that the Duralast 48L or 94R-DLG were good choices and the one in the car was a Nappa 48. I went with the Duralast 48 DLG from Autozone. It seems to be the exact same dimensions as the one removed but I can't get in to sit flush in battery rack. Is it ok if its tilted by a half inch. I can secure it with a strap but not sure if leaving it tilted back is ok. I have it tiled so the vent in the middle of the battery is on top of the tilt. Thanks

Did you cut off that metal bracket? It might sit better that way. Only the OEM size and shape fits with that bracket in place. My indy cut off the thing to put an interstate in there.

Depending on how much the tilt is, not all of the plate(s) may be covered inside with H2S04. Depends on the battery too. Some have more room so you just top off with distilled water a bit higher. That also runs you the risk of overflow.

The battery has to sit flat on an even surface. Take the battery out and find out what's causing your problem and reseat properly.
