How much does it cost just to balance 4 tires?

I've honestly never had to just get some tires balanced. Anyone?

Out here we have a SAM'S and if you are a member it only costs $3 per wheel to balance.

If you happened to buy tires on-line they only charge $3 to mount, put in a valve stem, and balance. I cannot believe how cheap they are and after 9 wheels through them I am confident in their capability. They have the same balancer that the local Discount Tire has, so I cannot see any lower quality on any of it - it's the place to go!

Yup, find a friend with Costco membership

Cost me 4 bucks per tire to balance & rotate. They'd fix flats for free too, even if u never purchase shit from 'em.

$3??? i charge $10 per tire, unless i sold you tires, then its included. it was $7000 for our machine and those alum/alloy style weights arent cheap, gotta pay for it somehow
it's dirty and and ties up a bay for a good 1/2 hr. anyways, for the benefits you get from balancing it's worth $40.
if you dont have any problems, vibration at higher speed driving, strange or uneven wear, i wouldnt worry about it. only if you change your tires or bend a rim. or sometimes the weights fall off.

(if you brought the wheels in not mounted on the car i'd do it for 1/2 price)

If you are a Costco member, you can get your tires balanced for $4 a tire, even if you didn't purchase them from there. They also offer free tire rotations for members, which is great. I drop my car off at the tire center and they are finished by the time I complete my shopping.

If you normally take in your car to a tire shop and pay for rotation, get the wheel balance instead when you intended to rotate. They will do the rotation for free, they have to remove all the tires to rotate anyway!

the local shop charges 1.50 per wheel for balancing and 10.00 to rotate. for some strange reason the tires on the front seem to always throw off the steel weights

For me... $0... Do my own balancing with my friend's machines... :-P

Most local shops should charge you anything between $20-$40 to do all 4 with rotation if you want to do it

I get it done for free- no questions asked...

Just take you car into Discount Tire- they will balance and rotate for free on the spot no questions asked. They provide this service to people who bought tires there (which I did), but they don't seem to ever check any paperwork. I even brought in my girlfriends less than new Ford Taurus when she got a flat, fully expecting to pay for a tire repair, but they fixed the tire and mounted it for free. When I tried to pay them they just said "you're good to go".

Next time you buy tires or wheels, remember the good folks down there who hooked you up for free and give them your business!
