I washed my car the other day. After it was washed it sat for a while. When I drove off the rears stuck. They made a loud noise when they broke free that scared me. My rotors are aftermarket, no cad-plating, so they rust everytime they get wet. I think it was the rust stuck to the pad.

Could be a number of things. Certainly a caliper piston getting stuck isn't out of the question. You'll wan to check this out good. Pay close attention to the rotor and pads before you change them...they may offer clues as well.

amazingly it was a bad caliper something that almost never happens, and oh yeah i was only running 3 pads in the rear. i guess you could say i was....a pad short!

My bet is not the caliper but the emergency brake cable has gotten a burr or stuck somewhere. It happened to me twice with expensive results on my 1993 Audi 100S and I was a regular user of the emergency brake which is supposed to be good. In both cases the cable was the issue

My left wheel locked up, too. I took it to the mechanic, and he said everything's all right.
